That is possible to classify dreams into two groups: dreams of the physical world and the metaphysical world. Dreams that belong to the first group can be about emotions, resolutions, warnings, recovers, confrontations in physical life.
First of all, we dream as a consequence of our needs. An individual may often have a dream about what they are longing for in life. Like a dehydrated person who has a dream about drinking water. Our needs are the basic principle. When the basic biological needs are not fulfilled, we can also dream of compensations for these needs.
On the other hand, finding solutions for issues we can not solve in our daily life is a type of analytic dream. One of the most common examples is that a person who is away from home misses their family and dreams about their beloved ones. Starting from these examples, people dream because of reasons or situations that I will point out below.
We dream when we want something to happen; when we yearn for a person; when we want to go to a specific place; when we can not solve the problems and situations that we face when we want something to do something in real life, but we can not; when artists get inspired; when collective consciousness is reflected.
Primary examples of metaphysical dreams, which is the second type of dreams, are lucid dreams, astral dreams, messenger dreams, healing dreams, combat dreams, and entity dreams.
Therefore, these dreams are had or shown based on specific purposes, as their names signify. For example, in messenger dreams, the person has stimulant or informative dreams. It is up to the person to interpret these dreams. They can make an expansion on meanings as much as they can interpret them. Healing dreams are also intended to heal people who do not feel well by using energy.
Also, you will have dreams based on what you live. It is worth mentioning that people have dreams that are fit to their level of soul (nafs), and they can determine their position in the spiritual world through these dreams.
